I’ve recently been contacted by a patient who had some feedback about the service provided at the surgery for peri-menopausal and menopausal women. She felt that the surgery was not particularly up-to-date with recent research and treatments, and she had heard the same complaint from several other women. Given that the surgery must have a large number of women who fall into this category, we wondered if it was possible to consider having one GP who specialised in women’s health generally and/or menopausal issues specifically. Apparently this happens at some other Brighton surgeries. I believe that the NHS may also currently be offering additional information and resources around this subject. I have asked Mark R to put this topic on the agenda for discussion at our next meeting.
