Good afternoon, I have been asked to publish here my experience at the clinic. I have recently had a neurological problem which couldn’t be sort out quickly (2 months waiting) without applying to a private appointment. I wanted to discuss even if by phone what the neurologist said but I have been able to reach to the GP. Options offered to me were: calling a day I am off at 8.30am and hope to get an appointment for the day or book an appointment in 3-4 weeks time.
Is it this the normal way to operate?
Thank you
Kind regards
Carmelo

GP leaders blamed the situation on the widespread shortage of family doctors, which they said was making it impossible to keep up with the rising demand for appointments due to an aging population. Burnout due to intense workloads is prompting more GPs to work part time.
